Who We Are
We are the Owen Sound, Ontario Chapter of Sweet Adelines International, Inc. Our chorus “Bluewater” belongs to Region #2 of Sweet Adelines which includes several chapters from Canada and Michigan. We chartered in 1981 thus making this our 36th year.
We are women who enjoy singing and have come together from all walks of life.
We sing Lead” (melody), Tenor (higher), Baritone (between lead & bass) and Bass (usually an octave lower than lead) to produce an a cappella sound that makes the hair on your arms stand up.
What Are The Benefits
As a Sweet Adeline you may attend workshops several times a year where you learn techniques such as breathing properly, vowel placements, resonance and sooo… much more. Ask any Sweet Adeline how exciting these weekends are; bonding with your “sisters” can last a life time.
You can move to a different town and join a chorus.
You gain confidence in yourself and you could even sing in a quartet.
The best benefit of all is seeing the faces of the people for whom you perform and how they enjoy our craft
